Ultimate Frisbee Rules




Before you begin playing any game, you need to first understand the rules. The rules will serve as your guide so that you can play the game without incurring any violations and other possible problems. Ultimate Frisbee is definitely one of the most popular Frisbee games played in the US and other countries.

1. The playing field in which Ultimate Frisbee is enjoyed is rectangular and at the ends, you will find the ‘end zones’. The regulation filed measures 70 x 40 yards and the end zones are twenty five yards deep.

2. Player from both sides line up on their respective end zones. In regulation Ultimate Frisbee games, every team is composed of 7players. The defensive team will initiate the play by casting the Frisbee to the offensive team.

3. Once the offending team completes a pass on the end zone of the defending  team, they will recieve a point. Once the results are given, the play will once more be initiated.

4. The disc advances position when it is successfully passed to other teammates. The participants must not advance with the Frisbee in their hand and they should pass it in precisely 10 seconds to stay clear of any violations. The marker or guard of the thrower counts out.

5. The possession of the disc changes whenever a pass is intercepted, blocked, dropped, or at the time the disc ends up out of bounds. The other team will control the disc when one team is unable to complete the pass.

6. A substitution is allowed in Ultimate Frisbee. Participants can be changed out after a score is achieved or if there's a timeout.

7. Players shouldn't render any physical contact. Screens and picks are also not permitted. when there is any kind of physical contact, a foul will be called.

8. If  the foul results in the interference of the disc control, play will restart and the ownership will be kept. Having said that, if the individual who fully commited the foul doesn't agree with the call, the play will be redone.

9. In most ultimate Frisbee games, there will be no referees. The players then will be the ones who make line and foul calls. If there are disputes, they resolve it on their own.

10. Ultimate Frisbee relies on fair play and sportsmanship. The teams promote competitive play but respect for other participants should be strictly observed. It is important that all players should adhere to the Ultimate Frisbee rules and of course, they shouldn't forget to enjoy the game.
